Leather, wool, ect.

Posted on: July 02, 2009 at 11:19 PM

This won't be a long one.

Why do we insist on wearing and using wool, leather and fur?
There are plenty of alternatives that are just as soft, fashionable, durable, ect.

Just think, next time you sit on your leather couch, or walk over your sheepskin rug - an animal died for that piece of furniture (or decoration or clothing). A living, breathing, feeling creature died, just so your couch could be a little more expensive, or your rug could be a little softer.

sheep aren't killed when we make wool. sheepskin, yes-- wool, no. wool is just shaved off the sheep every spring-- like a haircut, washed, carded, spun, and knit. perfectly humane. http://www.whysheep.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/sheep.jpg

Sorry, Drenne, but you are sooo wrong. Sheep are treated terribly, and in no way is this humane. Just watch this video. http://www.toxicjunction.com/get.asp?i=V3950
