I didnt know what to put as a title, obviously. ~^
Well I just joined this site, and this is my first blog. I would appreciate comments. Whether you agree or not, and you can bring up points I might forget to mention. [:
Well. Animal abuse is a s e r i o u s problem. I was fine with eating meat until sometime today, when I really thought about it for the first time. Why do we eat meat? Maybe, hundreds of years ago, it was the only food our ancestors could find. So of course its natural for us to eat animals. If I were starving, and the only food available to me was a rabbit - I would probably eat it to keep myself alive. But I'm not starving, and many people in the world aren't starving, either.
So why do we eat meat?
Because it tastes good? So do many other kinds of food - including foods that weren't made by killing a living creature.
For the protein? Well, there are other ways of getting protein. There's protein in peanut butter.
The point is that a n i m a l s h a v e f e e l i n g s t o o . They have feelings and emotions, and we don't need to kill them just because we're hungry. And its better ( but in no way 'not bad' ) when you don't kill the animals in cruel ways. McDonalds kills their chickens in the most cruel ways possible, and since I found out, I've stopped eating their chicken. Or their beef, for that matter. The point is that I would be faster to eat a cow that I was certain had died a painless death, and didn't live in bad conditions before it died. But I would still eat something else before I ate that cow.
Personally, I think we all need to rethink our diets.

personally, i feel theat vegans are unnatural. they have to take so many vitamins to keep healthy its unhealthy. also killing for meat is natural. its a natural thing theres an over population of some animals so how about rahter than hunting them for fun hunting them for food. seriously. we do need to rehtink our diets but not necesarily the way you do.
What gives you the right to speak for every vegan. Putting animals in slaughter houses is not natural. What, do think cows just roam free, in a nice green pasture, until they die of natural causes? I, certainly, don't need to rethink my diet. Maybe, you do, though.
i never said the way they killed was natural. It's not, I'm largely against animal cruelty. I just stated my opinion. I feel that if anything they find a new way more natural way to get meat for people. rather than spending all their on unnecessary animal testing find a more natural way to do things. no matter what anyone tries to do people will still eat meat.
GOOD FOR YOU. I've been a vegan for a long time, and just thinking about the way animals, in slaughter houses, are treated makes me cry. Eating any kind of mean is awfu.l
now i finally understand why my friend is a vegetarian, and your right, we really need to re-think our diets, but to me that means eating meat that i know is from an animal that did not suffer, which is why i never eat McDonalds, and i hate eating meat at any other fast food restaurants because you never really know where it came from.
I am a vegetarian largely because I see animals as beings who suffer as we suffer, and that the way we treat animals reflects the way in which we treat others. We see a society bent on killing and hatred rather than respect of life. I believe when we show respect for all life--we live that out. Good blog. river sims
