Last week we had a half day on Friday due to parent teacher conferences, so many students didn’t show up to class. Even with the absence of a lot of students, our class decided to go to east 98th street to a garden in order to plant bulbs. When we got there we broke up into 2 groups so we can cover more area to finish planting earlier. I enjoyed the activity because I felt as if I was helping the community in there mission to make the area more appealing. We planed 300 bulbs in the garden which will hopefully grow by spring time to make the place look good. We also cleaned up garbage in the area and also raked leaves. After the activity, I felt a sense of accomplishment because we volunteered to do something difficult in order to help a community. The task was difficult and actually burn a lot of calories, which was a surprise to me because I never expected it to be that hard.
