Rosanne Siino
Scotts Valley, CA
Rosanne is a PhD candidate at Stanford University, where she is studying the impact of Internet technologies such as email on the way people work together. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she spent 16 years in the corporate communications field, with 13 years in high-tech public relations. For six years, Rosanne served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Netscape, playing an instrumental role in creating and directing Netscape's brand and visibility from the Internet company's founding in mid-1994 until its purchase by AOL in 1999.
Rosanne is involved with a number of national and international non-profit organizations, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and CARE. In 1999, she was part of a six-person CARE fundraising expedition to Kilimanjaro and Tanzania, raising more than $60,000 for CARE programs. A firm believer in the need for business people to become socially involved, Rosanne currently writes for Stanford University's Stanford Social Innovation Report, a quarterly journal about non-profit work and social responsibility.
