Day of Action Guidelines

Belief in the power of collective action is central to the Right To Learn Campaign. By working with high school and college students throughout the state to hold actions on April 18, we expect to be able to have a much larger impact on the budget cuts than had students held actions on their own in an uncoordinated fashion.

To help build this power, we are asking that each group holding a Day of Action commit to following the following guidelines:

  1. Post your plans to your school's Day of Action page no later than April 11.
    1. The leader of your group can edit this section at the top-right corner of the your school's page.
  2. Regardless of what you choose to do on that day, make at least one banner or sign that says something about protecting your "Right To Learn."
    1. Feel free to use the official Right To Learn logos on your sign.
    2. Be sure that your banner or sign is large enough to read in your picture -- use a spray-painted sheet if you need something bigger!
  3. Gather everyone who participated in your Day of Action, hold up your sign, take a picture and send it to us.
    1. You can take your picture (or pictures) using a digital camera or a cell phone. We will have ways for you to upload either to the site (more details to come before April 18).
    2. VERY IMPORTANT: Please send us your pictures during or immediately after your event so we can post them to the site, distribute them to the media, etc.
  4. Have fun, stay safe and follow all applicable laws, etc.

That's it! If you have any questions about these guidelines, please get in touch with us at info@RightToLearnCA.org or 415-375-3096.
