How do I get into college?

By brianjames mail

My problem is that I understand that after high school comes college. But I'm not quite sure the steps on getting into college. Who do I talk to? I believe there should be some built in curriculum on preparing yourself beyond high school. It would be nice if I didn't have to take time out of my education to speak to my guidance counselor. My schedule is already jam packed as it is and the juggling act of class, lunch, and clubs makes its really hard for me, on my own, to schedule time with my counselor.

Besides, figuring out my academic future in a few easy sessions with 1 counselor seems kind of risky to me. I do have my parents, but what about kids that don't have parents or kids with parents that never went to college? There's a bigger learning curve for them that could be alleviated with education. Which is what we go to school for in the first place.

It is my belief that education is more than the quadratic formula or the lineage of American Presidents. Education involves providing useful knowledge for students to prepare them for their individual futures and to better society as a whole.

I propose seniors are given an elective class for 1 semester that attempts to help them outline the next step in their educational future. With help and guidance on how to take those steps.
