Project Log (1)
UpdatesPosted by: BeachBash on 12/02/08 We are currently working with Surfrider and volunteering at their events the next event is with Surfrider of Long beach every second and third saturday of the month. And in Nov. Surfrider Southbay is hosting a clean up at Trumps near the cliffs. (Lets just say there is a lot of trash the last time we hiked the cliffs) We are currently looking to join LRO in their cause and form a partnership. We recently volunteered at the Kodak Theater with LRO (Life Rolls On) for their gala event. It was a good expereince learning about fundraising events and especially about silent auctions. One member in our group recently attended Bioneers in San Rafael learning about advocacy in the environment and environmental groups that can help us achieve our project. A past weekend we also attended Craigslist Non-Profit Boot Camp in San Mateo learning about the non-profit sector and organizations that can help. We are now volunteering with Surfrider in efforts to clean up the beaches. We had a beach cleanup Nov 15 on Saturday at Trumps near the cliffs...there was a great turn out and it was interesting to hear from all that came out. Our next clean up is on Dec 6. at Cabrillo Beach at 8AM. If you live in the OC or up north check surfrider for a more local clean up. That is about it for now :)Comments (0) |
