Budget:Staffing $0 - $1000Materials $0 - $1000 Travel $0 - $1000 Communication $0 - $1000 Internet $0 - $1000 Marketing $0 - $1000 Misc $0 - $1000 PROJECT PROCESS One of the main reasons why a lot of corporations don't want to take action about global warming is because they are afraid of losing money, right? Well I had an idea, if we can find out what corporations are taking action and who are NOT taking action about global warming, we can choose to buy ONLY from the corporations who are voluntarily cutting their emissions. We can write to the corporations who are still not doing anything, and let them know that we are going to stop buying their products until they become more environmentally friendly. We can also write to our local representatives and visit them in their offces and demand that they take legislative action to stop global warming. I've been searcing around trying to find either a list of corporations who have been cutting emissions or a list of corporations who refuse to do so. I can't find much! I've written to a few organizations like greenpeace, the sierra club, etc. so maybe I'll get some information from them. Until then, if anyone has a spare few minutes to search the web, see if you can come up with anything. If you do, post it here! This is something concrete that we can actually do and if we start petitioning at schools and passing out the list to people, we can really get something going! Until we have a list of corporations lets stat petitioning people to sign letters to their representatives. Project Reflections & Outcomes Project Needs volunteers to help promote the event/project other people to join the cause/event/boycott other youth to start chapters in their school/community Other needs:Equipment: We need to find a list of corporations who are environmentally friendly so we can buy from them, and a list of high emission corporations so we can boycott them. |
