Don't Know Much About History

A recent study shows that the average U.S. college student can’t pass a civic literacy test. The Intercollegiate Studies Institute tested 14,419 freshman and seniors at 50 different universities last fall on American history, government, economy and international relations. The questions covered a wide range of topics, from the Founding Fathers and the American Revolution to the Bay of Pigs and the Cold War. Freshmen averaged 50.4 percent, and seniors averaged 54.2 percent, both failing grades in any classroom. Who is to blame for this sad state of affairs? Are American high schools and colleges failing to educate students, or do students simply forget whatever they learned after the test? What can the educational system do to improve Americans’ cultural literacy?

What Do You Think?
How often do you get quality time with a computer at school?

Every day. We are one.
Several times a week. We’re sorta together, but we’re not really into labels.
Once a week, if I’m lucky. ONE of us is scared of commitment.
Less than once a week. I don’t really want to talk about it.
