Teen Pregnancy: What Am I Supposed to do About It?

Whether you are sexually active or not and whether or not you are a teen parent, teen pregnancy is an issue that affects you and your peers. And it is an issue that you can get involved in.

May 4, 2005, is the 4th annual National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. The Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is asking you to do one simple thing: "Stop, think, and take action in a very personal way to avoid pregnancy."

"Okay, I'll do that, but there must be other things I can do too."
Since you asked. The Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy folks have quite a few things lined up for you:
  • DaGyrlRounDaWaii says, "...it looks simple to take care of a child, please, gimme a break. U have to buy diapers, carriage, clothes, then clothes 4 u, and that ain't CHEAP."

    National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month will be in May
    There are tons of things you can do, right in your own school and community -- get permission to run an information campaign in your school and hang posters with stats and information. You could hold a contest for the best print or broadcast public service announcement. For details on having such a contest, go to: www.TeenPregnancy.org

  • Zip it! and write to your Congress members and tell them to support ongoing teen pregnancy prevention campaigns. Send 'em an email or a letter.
