Blog for Haiti Earthquake Relief
On January 12, 2010, a devastating earthquake struck Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital city, killing tens of thousands and affecting millions. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and many survivors are in need of shelter, food, clean water and medical supplies. We at Link Media/YouthNoise have been keeping the people of Haiti in our thoughts, but we also want to reflect our sentiments through our actions. We have been heartened by how many people around the world have come together to support relief efforts in Haiti, and we'd like to encourage our community to keep up the good work.Image courtesy of United Nations Development Programme
UPDATE: This campaign is now extended through February 11, 2010 to encourage everyone to participate in the Just 1 Click campaign. This month's Just 1 Click will support AIDG, an organization helping with recovery efforts in Haiti. Clicking for the Just 1 Click campaign counts as an action for Step #1 below!
YouthNoise is supporting a blog fundraiser for humanitarian aid in Haiti. Just follow these three easy steps:
1. Take a simple action to help with Haitian earthquake relief. This is anything from texting to donate to a nonprofit to participating in the Just 1 Click campaign here at YouthNoise. We've included a few suggestions below; please feel free to add your ideas in the comments section.
2. Share the story of how you helped in your YouthNoise blog.
- Log in to your YN account and click on My Profile in the top navigation
- In the My Blog section, click "post new blog"
- Write a short paragraph (100-300 words) about how you contributed to relief efforts in Haiti OR upload a photo or video (with a two-sentence explanation) that demonstrates how you helped
- Add the tag "haitirelief" to your post and publish
