Eligibility
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. To participate in the Contest you must be a legal resident of one of the 50 United States, including the District of Columbia, a registered Noisemaker at YouthNoise.com, between the ages of 13 to 26 at the time of Entry and have had Internet access prior to the first date of this Contest. Employees of Sponsor, their licensed dealers, agents, affiliates and Contest partners, and employees' immediate families are not eligible to enter. Immediate family members include relatives living at the same address as an employee. Contest is void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. This Contest is intended for viewing in the United States only and shall only be construed and evaluated according to United States law. You are not authorized to participate in this Contest if you are not located within the United States.
Entry Procedure
Your Entry should demonstrate how you participated in one of the challenges through the submission of a photograph, video, written explanation/verification and other means of communicating your participation. The entry should be compelling and pragmatic solutions for dealing with issues around four (4) Environmental Challenges: Challenge 1: Waste Minimization/Resource Conservation; Challenge 2: Energy; Challenge 3: Chemical Use Reduction; and Challenge 4: Reforestation. You must designate the Environmental Challenge your Entry relates to at the time you submit your Entry. You will be permitted, at your option, to provide in no more than 30 words the rationale for your project; however you are not required to do so and any rationale provided will not be considered in the judging process. How to enter:
The Contest will begin at 12:01 am Pacific Time on April 4, 2007 and continue through 11:59pm Monday, May 1st. Time. Access www.youthnoise.com/gogreendetails and follow the instructions to submit your Entry. Entry will require your registration as a Noisemaker at YouthNoise.com. All Entries become the property of Sponsor and can be used in other promotional material as Sponsor sees fit. Entries will not be returned. By entering the Contest, you consent to the posting of your Entry (and rationale provided) on the YouthNoise web site. Enter as often as you like, but each Entry must be unique. Submissions must be made in English. Each video, photo or written documentation of participation in a challenge must be submitted in the name of one, and only one, entrant although the Entry can be a group project. Prize will be awarded in the name of the entrant. You must also provide your email address, mailing address, phone number, age and YouthNoise name. Sponsor is not responsible for inaccurate, fraudulent, incomplete, illegible, tampered with, misdirected, late or stolen Entries or transmissions, or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human or electronic.
Photos need to be submitted as a JPEG or GIF at 600 pixels wide X400 pixels high at 72dpi resolution. Please submit all photos with a horizontal orientation.
Videos files must be formatted in MPG, MOV, FLV and WMV. Mobile phone video can be uploaded in its original, smaller dimensions. Videos may not Videos can be no longer than 2 minutes in length.
By submitting an Entry, you represent and warrant that: (i) each Entry you submit is your own original creation and does not infringe any other person's or entity's rights including, but not limited to, copyright, trademark and rights of publicity or privacy; and (ii) you have obtained permission, if applicable, from the people featured in each Entry to enter this Contest. Any Entry that includes content the Sponsor deems inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by the Sponsor in their sole discretion, will not be eligible. By way of example, and without limiting any other provisions in these Official Rules, Entries may NOT contain:
- Any copyrighted material not in the public domain or for which you have not obtained the rights to use;
- 3rd party voice-overs for which you have not obtained the rights to use;
- 3rd party stock photography or artwork for which you have not obtained the rights to use;
- Nudity, lewd or vulgar behavior; offensive language and/or gestures.
All approved Entries submitted will be posted to www.youthnoise.com/gogreencontest/.
Winner Selection and Prizes
Sponsor will hold random drawings to select two (2) entrants from each Environmental Challenge who will each receive one (1) $100 Timberland gift card. Additionally, all Entries will be judged by a panel of judges consisting of YouthNoise staff based on creativity (34%), potential impact to change behavior (33%) and potential impact of resources conserved (33%). The judges will choose one (1) first prize winner from each Environmental Challenge who will receive $800. The judges will also select one (1) grand prize winner from among the first prize winners based on the criteria stated above. Sponsor will donate $800 on the grand prize winner's behalf to a 501(c)(3) non-profit environmental charity of his/her choice. All winners will be selected between May 3 and May 5. Total value of all prizes being awarded: $4,800.
Notification; Provision of Phone Number, Address
Winners will be notified via email within approximately seven (7) business days after determination that they are eligible to receive a prize. If the prize winning notification email is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner in a random drawing. All selected winners must complete and sign a notarized affidavit and return to YouthNoise within seven (7) days of receipt. If winner is a minor, the finalist's parent/legal guardian must sign and return all required documents. Non-compliance shall result in disqualification and award of prize to an alternate prize winner.
Delivery of Prizes
All prizes will be sent by mail to the addresses provided; shipping costs are included. The Sponsor is not be responsible for misdelivery of any documents and/or prizes provided that the Sponsor addresses the documents and/or prizes to the address provided by the winner.
Announcement of Winners
The Sponsor will announce the winners and post their full names and city and state of residence on the YouthNoise web site the week of May 7th.
Disqualification
The Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any Entry that they determine, in their sole discretion, is ineligible to participate in the Contest. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in a disqualification.
General Conditions
All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. If winner is a minor, prize will be awarded in name of parent/legal guardian. By acceptance of prize, each winner (and parent/legal guardian, as applicable) agrees without limitation to the use of winner's Entry, name, photograph and/or likeness for publicity purposes without any additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. You (and parents/legal guardians, as applicable) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, including but not limited to errors in the advertising, Official Rules, selection and announcement of the winners and distribution of the prizes.
By entering the Contest, you (and parent/legal guardians, where applicable) agree that Sponsor and their respective representatives, agencies, affiliates, subsidiaries, Contest partners, directors, officers and employees have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting from participation in the Contest, the acceptance, participation in, use or misuse of any prize, or technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, cost or unavailable network connections, fraud, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, whether caused by Sponsor, users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions which may damage a user's system or limit your ability to participate in the Contest.
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, at anytime without notice, if any factor, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, interfere with its conduct as contemplated by these Official Rules. Sponsor may prohibit you from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in their sole discretion, they determine that you are attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception or other unfair playing practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Sponsor's representatives. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entries.
In case of dispute, Entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of Entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet Access Provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
