The whole world is the victim of the AIDS epidemic. It's not just gays, not just drug addicts, innocent people are now getting AIDS. I don't want to say that people are "Careless" when they somehow contract the disease through men having sex with men, or shooting up and sharing needles, or even getting it through a partner who did either of those things, but someone in this nasty epidemic chain of events isn't doing something, whether it's wearing a condom when they go have sex with another man, or using their own needles for using drugs, or something, people are contracting this disease. I'm not trying to gay bash or man bash or anything, honestly, I would never want to do that, but the majority of WOMEN who are getting AIDS are through heterosexual contact from men who are sleeping with other men or shooting up. MOst of my thoughts are scattered here, but all that I'm trying to say is that NOT just gays have the disease. Women and straight men get it too, and sometimes, mothers pass it to babies, and people getting blood transfusions can get the HIV form...it's happening to all of us, we just need to be a little more aware. Get tested.

AIDS is happening and it is a threat to our society. I don't believe the crap that AIDS is "the gay disease". Now, I don't know how AIDS originated or under what circumstances, but even if it didn't originate from a gay relationship, the responsibility of the continued horror that we are facing DOES NOT belong on the shoulders of the gays. Many innocent people unknowlingly pass AIDS. They contract it unknowingly and spread it. But I am not laying the blame on them either. The blame is on anyone that pretends AIDS is not killing, ignoring the fact that it is rapidly spreading through society and trying to convince us that it is all under control. It isn't. AIDS is KILLING our family, our friends, our neighbors, our towns and our world. Don't waste time blaming people. Use your time INFORMING others, HELPING others and CONTINUE to fight.

I disagree that AIDS is punishment. Gay men aren't the only ones spreading this fatal disease, for example what about all these heterosexual males cheating on their wives with multiple partners. Those women who contract it from infedility what are they being punished for? huh being faithful and trusting their husbands. And what about these chidren contracting it from their mothers? what are they being punished for? That explanation for AIDS is ignorant people who need to point a finger at someone for something as tragic as AIDS. It's unfair for people to use gay men as scapegoats for AIDS. Most religious leaders are anti gay people in general so it's obvious why they'd like to lay the blame on them. The higher being whoever he is in your religion loves all people he/she/it wouldn't single out a class of people to punish. AIDS is an epidemic that needs a cure not punishment to anybody. It's the equivalent of saying Hurricane Katrina was punishment for all the "sinful" activities being partaken in New Orleans.It's ignorant gibberish coming out o f ignorant people who are best left ignored.

AIDS is an epidemic that needs to be in control immediately. It doesn't really matter how the disease came about. It just matters that we find a cure and work together to help those suffering.

HIV is the most devastating disease humankind has ever faced. Since the beginning of the HIV epidemic almost 70 million people have been infected with HIV. Today, it is estimated that 42 million people are living with HIV/AIDS and the people are discriminated against but discrimination is a thing of mind and affect us when we lest expect it happen.

for too long i have heard that kind of ignorant garbage. lately it has been that homosexuals are degrading the institute of marriage. i can't possibly comprehend how someone else's life would affect yours, nor can i understand how we can blame the AIDS epidemic on the gays. AIDS is killing us all. young and old, white or black, gay or straight. any sexaully active person is at risk. any drug user is at risk. anyone who comes into contacts with an HIV postitive person's fluids in a non-sexual way is at risk. instead of playing "who shot john?" let's sit down, realize we have a problem on our hands that kills, and figure out what to do to stop. the gays dont have the answer, so let's stop looking to them for it

Scientists say that AIDS originally comes from Haiti, where someone received it from a monkey, and then brought it to the rest of the world. First off, who in the world would screw a monkey, that's what I really want to know. Even though gay men do receive this horrid disease, so do others from blood transfusions before 1987 I think, when it became a requirement to screen blood, and others receive it from intravaneous drugs, or from having sex with a partner who either doesn't know that they have AIDS or were too dang selfish to tell their partner. But anyone can get AIDS. Absolutely anyone.

AIDS can be spread by anyone, not just gays. I don't think God punishes gays by giving them AIDS, their true punishment is the life the will spend in Hell because God didn't put man and woman on earth to have gays but that doesn't mean he is punishing them. AIDS can be spread by anyone so don't ever think anything different because you need to be careful about this epidemic as well so be safe and smart.

The fact is, heterosexual women have the highest chance of getting aids today. heterosexual women. its not gays or druggies that are the leading group of people infected.
