  • See what kind of recycling laws or opportunities your city has. You can probably recycle stuff from your own front door—from glass to aluminum to paper, or even plastic.
  • Grow your own vegetables and fruits if you can. They'll smell great, taste better, and save you money, gas—and resources.
  • Wear a green armband on Earth Day!

  • Get your school / community / church to give a discount for people who bring in recyclables. For every 10 bottles or cans they could receive a 10% discount on the cost of a game, t-shirt, rosary beads, whatever. Proceeds can go to energy efficient light bulbs for your school-or the recycled materials could go to the art department for unique art projects.
  • Design wildly fun recycling bins to use on campus. Here are a few for inspiration.
  • Have a fundraiser selling recycled canvas grocery bags and Nalgene waterbottles with your school logo or with a message about "going green" to get others to ditch plastic.

Consume Less. Be a conscious consumer. Know where your products are coming from and how they will be disposed.

Recycle Your Cell Phone | kerrio
Throwing away electronics puts nasty chemicals into the soil. I tried this super easy online cell phone recycling program and loved it! It's free and easy!

Recycled Clothing | ivey
I love to wear recycled clothing or make my own! It's way cheaper and a good way to express my own personal style. Here's an example of what one lady does with old sweaters.
