YouthNoise and Parsons The New School for Design, have co-sponsored and partnered to launch DROP: a campaign focused on bringing creative young people together to create actions with local, national, and international impacts on the water crisis.

This day-long summit will serve as the initial step in a personal and team campaign for 75 emerging social entrepreneurs and activists in the greater New York metropolitan area.  Part awareness building, part community building and 100% focused on social change, this summit will offer opportunities for committed young people (like you) to dive into the complex world of water issues facing our global community.

The DROP delegate interns are the heart and soul of the YouthNoise DROP campaign. The DROP delegates are a network of leaders who are taking the spirit of DROP and translating it into real-world impact through community-based projects and events.

We are looking for talented and motivated young people to become DROP delegate interns

  • Internships will kick off with the DROP Summit on November 15th in NYC.
  • At the Summit, delegates will form teams to execute projects, learn about YouthNoise, our partners and the DROP campaign and acquire the planning and leadership skills to be successful.
  • Delegates will work in teams to create sustainable projects centered around our DROP mission.
  • The internship end date is flexible. Interns will be able to set their own hours and maintain a flexible reporting schedule, so the internship will not interfere with school or work hours.

Benefits of the DROP Delegate Internship

  • DROP interns will gain valuable management and leadership experience on a local, well-respected campaign. They will acquire marketing, communications, grassroots organizing and business skills that will stand out on any resume.
  • Interns will be known as social innovators who have created substantial change through community engagement and leadership.
  • Interns will be part of a strong network of leaders in the greater New York Area, connections which are beneficial for future social and career endeavors.
  • Interns will receive seed funding to carry out their projects.
  • But most importantly, you will also become part of a growing community of young people focused on this critical issue – and becoming a part of the solution.

Qualifications

  • A highly motivated self-starter
  • Hardworking and dedicated
  • Passionate about social change and the environment
  • Volunteering experience
  • Leadership experience a plus
