"Mirror, Mirror, How Amazing Is My Figure?"--An Excerpt of an early From First To Last song, Failure By Designer Jeans.
When you look in the mirror, do you see exactly what you want? Do you think you're too fat or too skinny? Is there CONSTANTLY something wrong with you? Is enough never...well, enough? Let me tell you right now- fat, skinny, tall, short, deformities-- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. Break the habit and be good enough for you for once. That, or...change it. As my wise mother once told me- "it's never to late to make a change. If you don't like something, change it."

1 Food for Thought If we all threw out our mirrors and spent the time we normally stood there thinking about how we looked, trying to solve the world's problems, I'm sure we could put an end to, or offset many of the world's largest issues.

Why I Support This Cause! Negative Role Models. typeAsmith is right. Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, and other such celebrities are negative, and represent being a girl as being skinny, blond, and partying constantly. We should consider more positive role models like Kat Dennings, Oprah Winfery (no matter the stereotypical-ness of it) and other famous people like manage to stay out of the negative tabloids and media exposures. These people, successful, beautiful without being sticks, and nice are what we should be emulation. Negative body image completely comes from what we see in the movies and on front of magazines. This should stop right now. Girls should be supported to be healthy and happy.
by: absolution on 2009-04-21 15:21:381 body image well i aaont compare myself to others but here in miami fat or skinny these girls walk with there head held hight they wer every and anything and are not ashamed of wha t they are showing. I on the other hand always wear a jacket no matter what i dont care if its steaming hot outside i cann ot let anyone see my body and sometimes when i actually look into the mirror i kind of see an larger image its krazy i try to ignore it but its kinda of difficult but i really adnire those who love them selves how they are i wish i had that affection for myself and within myself
by: peace312 on 2009-01-28 05:24:362 "Role Models" Girls like Paris Hilton should not be role models. And they're not the only people out there setting an example. That's a mdeia conflict we can not control.
Girls everywhere need to be careful what they say around kids, sisters, friends. We need to support the cause actively with positive attitudes and healthy habits. Girls don't necessarily become obsessed with their body because they want to look like PAris Hilton but rather because they are not CONFIDENT as they are. Other things can build confidence in girls and women everywhere. Feel good about the good things in your life and don't focus on your waist!
