AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease that has become an epidemic in America and in some developing countries.SUrprisingly, though, AIDS can be transmitted non-sexually as well. If you have an open wound or cut and a persons blood who has AIDS enters yours, you can get it. There is no real cure, but people are continuing to try to find one. Please join this cause, because it could happen to you too, or anyone close to you.

Why I Support This Cause! A friend with HIV.
I support this cause because I have a friend who is HIV positive. I have seen how cruel people can be, being uneducated. In high school she was called a horrible names relating to sex, when she herself was still a virgin, having contracted HIV as a paramedic at a triathlon. It hurts me to see her hurt by people who don't even try to understand. She is such a wonderful person and brave to face all the horrible the things the world around her includes. She is strong, healthy and a great friend. I support AIDS/HIV to raise awareness and offer a voice to those who might not use theirs often enough!

I support this because in school I had a friend who did a report on AIDS. He said that 13% of the US has AIDS and that really hit me.

I'm pretty certain that the majority of young people are not well informed in matters concerning AIDS. My school is pretty good about AIDS education, but I became aware that I didn't have enough knowledge about AIDS beforehand. I was so unaware of the huge impact that it had, and I'd like others to become more aware.
(also, since i'm new to youthnoise, can anyone tell me how to view all my MyCauseIs, since it's not on my pf?)
