Keeping active is so important to stay happy and healthy. Exercise keeps your heart healthy and helps you prevent type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and other health problems. It's also great for your mental well-being. Even walking 20 minutes a day can really improve your mind and body. I like to mix it up when I exercise-- walking, swimming, rollerblading, Tae Bo, dancing--anything that keeps me moving!

 1 Make a Fit City Submit ideas for what needs to happen to create a healthy city-- access to cheap, healthy food, places to exercise, clean air-- in the Fit City Competition. The top five winners will score a trip to Sydney in February (summer in the southern hemisphere!). www.fit-city.org...

 2 Walk for the Cure I always participate in Bay to Breakers, a San Francisco Bay Area marathon for the race against childhood obesity.
Does your community support a walk-a-thon? Look into it. You can get fit AND make a difference.

Why I Support This Cause! Health I need to exercise to keep healthy. I usually HATE exercising but when I get it done and over with, I feel much better and energized!
