Feed Me. Feed them. Feed the World.
Hunger exists everywhere in the world. It is a signal that shows that the body is running short of food. It is greater than AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. Every day about 24,000 people die from hunger, and 12,083 of them are children. Some causes of hunger are poverty, war, and natural disasters. Poverty is the principal cause of hunger. About 780 million poor people are suffering from chronic hungerin developing countries who live on $1 a day or less. Please help them. Feed me. Feed them. Feed the world.

2 Put an end to global hunger Skyrocketing food costs are forcing families to go hungry around the world, from Haiti to Somalia to Bangladesh. As usual during times of crisis, women and children are the most vulnerable.
CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty, is already on the ground, providing food to families and helping them create lasting solutions to hunger. We place special focus on working with poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty.
But even before the current crisis, hunger had been on the rise. The truth is that long-standing U.S. food aid programs haven't proven effective in reducing chronic hunger. The United States needs to respond to the crisis now, and begin to change the U.S. approach to hunger by addressing its underlying causes.
You can make a difference by writing your senators today and asking them to take a stand on global hunger.
Recently, there have been discussions on two important provisions to make inroads in the global hunger crisis:
• Emergency food programs to help address the global increase in the price of food, and
• Regional and local purchase programs to pilot new, more effective approaches to fighting chronic hunger.
We need to tell Congress that more needs to be done.
Please take a moment now to write your senators and urge them to improve their response to the global food crisis and make the changes needed to current food aid programs in order to create lasting solutions to hunger.

Why I Support This Cause! can someone help me? for some reason i can't join?
by: twetiedoll on 2007-09-17 19:58:051 We can HELP! We all can help feed the hunger. How? we can donate canned foods and boxed foods to local shelters, and places like that, and also donate money to them. Every school year we always do a feed the hunger donation thing, if we want to wear a hat for the day we would have to bring $1 and then some days we have to bring canned food and stuff like that, and at the end of the school year we do this penny thing. All 7, 8, & 9th grade has to put pennies in their grade bucket, and if each grade can put dimes nickels an quarters in the other grades to take points away, but what ever money we all raise it goes toward the hunger people, its really fun
by: babygirl9211 on 2007-09-13 10:06:122 the goverment has enough Every week Taxes are taken out every man and every womans check, And the truth is that money adds up to alot more than people think. If the govenment just donated a portion of the taxes they collected could give 15,000 familys a warm dinner. and 30,000 kids 3 meals. if people would just come off their precious money it would make quite a few familys smile, and many many kids happy
